Dr. David M. Buck, O.D. established Peninsula Eye Care in 2017 on the foundation of Dr. William R. Waldron's practice. His goal is to provide full scope optometry services to the Peninsula and surrounding areas with proficiency and genuine care for his patients.
A Newport News local, Dr. Buck attended Virginia Tech, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Biology. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University, a program nationally recognized for excellence in Optometric education.
In addition to primary eye care, Dr. Buck has focused his expertise in the diagnosis and management of ocular disease, contact lens and specialty contact lens evaluation and management, and pre/post-operative ocular care.
Dr. Buck is a member of the Tidewater, Virginia, and American Optometric Associations. He enjoys spending time with his wife and raising his two beautiful children.
Dr. Palmer graduated from Miami University of Ohio, co-majoring in Psychology and Neuroscience. She went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Palmer has gained extensive training in the treatment and management of ocular diseases including but not limited to glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, diabetes, hypertension, etc. She specializes in contact lenses and is comfortable with soft, gas permeable, hybrid, and scleral lens designs and fitting. Along with her passion for primary care, Dr. Palmer places an emphasis on ocular surface disease and providing comprehensive and problem-focused examinations.
Dr. Palmer enjoys traveling with her husband along with being outdoors and going to sporting events in her free time. She is passionate about cooking, health, and fitness and is always looking for ways to stay active and involved in the community around her.
Dr. Overmeyer graduated with highest honors from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in May 2013. Over the past 11 years, she has practiced optometry in both private practice and a multi-disciplinary clinic. In private practice, she has experience working with children and families to meet their visual needs. As a staff optometrist in a multi-disciplinary clinic, she has experience in geriatric optometry and ocular disease.
Prior to her optometric education, Dr. Overmeyer earned a B.S. in Biology from The Pennsylvania State University. She completed an undergraduate thesis in Kinesiology as a Schreyer Honors Scholar.
Originally from Greensburg, Pennsylvania, Dr. Overmeyer currently lives in Poquoson with her husband and three young children. She enjoys spending time on the water with her family and playing volleyball. She and her family recently returned from a year-long assignment in Germany, and she is excited to serve the community at Peninsula Eye Care
