Meet our Experienced Team of Doctors
Dr. William R. Waldron
Dr. Waldron graduated from The University of Rochester in 1970 and is a member of the American Optometric Association, Virginia Optometric Association, Virginia Academy of Optometry and the Tidewater Optometric Society.
Dr. David M. Buck
Dr. David M. Buck, O.D. established Peninsula Eye Care in 2017 on the foundation of Dr. William R. Waldron's practice. His goal is to provide full scope optometry services to the Peninsula and surrounding areas with proficiency and genuine care for his patients.
Dr. Kara Palmer
Dr. Palmer graduated from Miami University of Ohio, co-majoring in Psychology and Neuroscience. She went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
Dr. Elyse Bae
Dr. Bae is a native of Chesterfield, VA. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor’s in Biology and then obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Elkins Park, PA.

Comprehensive Eye Exams
A comprehensive eye exam measures visual function and eye health. This is done with a variety of medical equipment, great precision, and can only be done correctly by your eye doctor.
Diabetic Eye Exams
Diabetes is a systemic (whole body) disease that affects blood vessels everywhere in the body. The eye is a prime place to monitor this disease as your eye doctor can safely view blood vessels without cutting into tissue.

Standard & Specialty Contact Lens Fitting
Contact lens fitting involves measurements of the curvature of the front surface of your eye in order to obtain the proper curve of the lens. We specialize in difficult to fit lenses.

Some patients, due to eye disease, congenital/childhood disease, or injury, cannot achieve perfect vision even with the best glasses and contacts. Both of our doctors specialize in optimizing visual function for these patients using devices and techniques in our Low Vision Clinic.
